Over 3,000 persons on Friday, May 15, 2026, stormed Eziama Ntighauzor in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State as a businessman, evangelist, philanthropist, and founder of the EVANSINO Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, officially declared his intention to contest for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the Labour Party.

The declaration, which took place at his country home in Eziama Ntighauzor, attracted a large crowd of supporters, party stakeholders, community leaders, and political groups from across the three local government areas.

In his address, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah described his political ambition as a continuation of his long-standing commitment to humanitarian service and community upliftment. He reflected on his personal struggles with poverty, highlighting experiences of hardship such as lack of food, educational challenges, and limited opportunities, which he said shaped his compassion and dedication to public service.

He further outlined the interventions carried out through the EVANSINO Humanitarian Foundation, including scholarships for students, payment of school fees, sponsorship of medical surgeries, youth and women empowerment programs, medical outreach initiatives, provision of boreholes, and various forms of humanitarian assistance across communities within the constituency.

He emphasized that his decision to join the House of Representatives race under the Labour Party was driven by a desire to promote accountable, compassionate, and people-focused leadership. He pledged commitment to improving opportunities for young people, empowering women, caring for the elderly, and ensuring balanced development across all communities in the constituency.

According to him, the vision is to build a constituency where leadership is responsive, inclusive, and service-driven, ensuring that no community or individual is left behind.

The Obingwa Local Government Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Tony Ngwakwe, described Emmanuel Josiah as a grassroots-oriented figure whose humanitarian efforts have significantly impacted farmers, women, children, and youths across Obingwa. He noted that his philanthropic engagements through the EVANSINO Foundation demonstrate a genuine commitment to community development.

Hon. Ngwakwe further expressed confidence that if given the party’s ticket and elected into office, his humanitarian background would be strengthened by divine grace to deliver greater impact for the people.

Also speaking, the Mayor of Obingwa LGA, Hon. Maxwell Nwadike, described him as a vibrant young man who has consistently impacted lives positively and expressed optimism that he would perform effectively if entrusted with legislative responsibilities at the national level.

In a brief interview, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, who arrived later due to other political engagements, described Emmanuel Josiah as a pleasant personality who has taken a commendable step into mainstream politics. He noted that the declaration marks a significant entry into the political space and wished him success in his political journey.

The event was well attended by party stakeholders from Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa, and Ugwunagbo, alongside prominent groups such as Abia Arise, Chioma Abia, and the New Abia Movement. Community leaders, youth organizations, and the Old Obioma Ngwa Concerned Stakeholders were also present, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that characterized the declaration.
