The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, FNSE, FNICE, FNITHE, has pledged to run a campaign anchored on truth, transparency, accountability and service to the people.
Orji made the commitment in a message to his constituents as campaigns officially commenced on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
He assured the electorate that his campaign would be issue-driven and focused on providing verifiable information rather than what he described as “empty promises, propaganda, or information that cannot be verified.”
According to him, the people deserve access to accurate information to enable them make informed decisions during the election.
The APC candidate identified employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, support for small businesses, technology and improved living conditions as key areas that would form the focus of his campaign.
He said he would clearly communicate his plans, the strategies for achieving them and the practical steps required to ensure that the people benefit from his proposed programmes.
Orji further promised that his commitment to the constituency would continue beyond the election if elected, stressing that he would work to attract meaningful development to communities across Ikwuano/Umuahia.
He pledged to advocate for projects aimed at improving roads, water supply, healthcare and education, while supporting young people and entrepreneurs and ensuring that the concerns of constituents receive effective representation.
The APC candidate also promised to remain accessible and accountable to the people, saying he would listen to their concerns, report on his responsibilities and work collaboratively with constituents towards building a stronger and more prosperous constituency.
He described the election as more than a contest between candidates, saying it represented an opportunity for the people to decide the kind of leadership and future they desire.
Orji therefore urged constituents to choose “truth over propaganda, service over self-interest, and real development over empty promises.”
He expressed optimism that with the support and trust of the electorate, Ikwuano/Umuahia could become a constituency where every community and individual has an opportunity to progress.
“Together, with your support and trust, we can build a constituency where every community and every individual has an opportunity to progress,” he said.
