Senator Nkechi Nwaogu (PhD, CON), a prominent lawmaker and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially declared her intention to contest for the Abia Central Senatorial District seat.

Making her declaration at Amaitolu Mbutu Umuojima Ward 2, Nwaogu emphasized the need for experienced and competent legislators, noting that effective lawmaking requires deep knowledge and proven capacity. Addressing supporters in Umugaa, she highlighted her track record of performance both in the Senate and in previous public offices.
The senator also used the occasion to drum up support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections, urging party faithful to remain united.
In his remarks, Chief Ogumnka Iheanacho charged party members on the importance of presenting credible candidates, stressing that the APC’s chances of victory depend on fielding its best. Similarly, the APC Chairman in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Chief Amarachukwu Nwafor, encouraged sustained support for the party.
Prince Enyinnaya Ubani also endorsed Nwaogu’s candidacy, expressing confidence in her ability to deliver effective representation.
The event concluded on a high note, with reports of several influential politicians from other parties defecting to the APC, signaling growing momentum for the party ahead of the elections.
