The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ginger O. Onwusibe, has officially flagged off the construction of a Cottage Hospital in Mbutu, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
The flag-off ceremony, held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, was witnessed by residents of Mbutu and other stakeholders, who expressed excitement over the prospect of having improved healthcare services closer to the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, Onwusibe said the hospital project was conceived in response to the need for better medical infrastructure and accessible healthcare services within the constituency.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, stressing the importance of providing healthcare facilities that would enable residents, particularly those in rural communities, to access quality medical attention without travelling long distances.
Residents of Mbutu expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for the initiative, describing the project as a significant intervention in the community’s healthcare sector.
The construction of the Cottage Hospital is expected to provide an additional healthcare facility for residents of Mbutu and surrounding communities when completed.
