A humanitarian programme manager, Hon. Rowland Chinedu, has collapsed his political structure into the campaign of the All Progressives Congress candidate for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency, Chief Samuel Nwogu, in the 2027 general election.
Chinedu, who is Humanitarian Programme Manager to the Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, South-South Chapter, also announced plans for a one million-man march in support of Nwogu’s House of Representatives bid.
He made the declaration on Friday, October 9, 2026, while leading community leaders, youth leaders, chiefs and women from Umuelechi community on a solidarity visit to Nwogu at his country home in Owaza, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
Chinedu said he had followed Nwogu’s activities and contributions to Ukwa since their school days.
“Right from our school days, we have been hearing your name and what you have been doing to ensure that Ukwa is projected to the political epicentre,” he said.
He said he did not reside in his hometown, Umuelechi, but decided to bring his political activities home when he heard Nwogu was contesting.
“The community leaders and youth leaders came with me, and you have our full support,” he added.
Responding, Nwogu highlighted some of his interventions in Obuzor community, particularly in education, and called for stronger ties between the people of Owaza and Obuzor.
He urged residents to disregard what he described as misleading information capable of dividing the two communities.
“The people of Owaza and Obuzor have no reason to have problems with one another,” Nwogu said.
He said he facilitated the appointment of an Obuzor indigene, Hon. Stanley Eche, as Commissioner for Petroleum during the then Peoples Democratic Party-led administration.
“I also registered WAEC and NECO examinations for students from Obuzor and I have also given university scholarships to some students from your community,” he said.
Nwogu also advised youths to shun drug abuse and remain focused on their future.
He thanked Chinedu and the Umuelechi delegation for the visit and their support.
The visit ended with prayers and solidarity remarks from community leaders and other participants.
