The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Hon. Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., has continued his consultations with stakeholders, engaging youths in Ozar, Ukwa West Local Government Area.
Nwogu met with the leadership and members of the Ozar Youth Forum (OYF) on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the residence of the forum’s President, Comrade Emeka Nwoha, in Umuiku Ozar.
Welcoming Nwogu, Nwoha thanked him for honouring the invitation and expressed the youths’ appreciation for his willingness to engage directly with them.
“We are happy to receive you. We believe that a representative who listens to the people, especially the youths, will better understand their needs and aspirations,” Nwoha said.
Also speaking, Hon. Tony Mezie Nwaubani described Nwogu as a humble and God-fearing man, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide effective representation for the constituency.
“We appreciate your humility and the respect you have shown to our people. We believe you have the experience and capacity to represent Ukwa well,” Nwaubani said.
The forum’s Secretary, Comrade Chijioke Nwagboso, highlighted some of the major concerns of Ozar communities, including poor roads, youth empowerment and greater political participation. He urged Nwogu to give the area adequate attention if elected.
“Our people need development that can be seen and felt. We want roads, opportunities for our youths and a stronger voice in government,” Nwagboso said.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mr. Obinna Samuel thanked Nwogu for taking time to listen to their concerns, describing the consultation as an opportunity for the younger generation to directly engage with a prospective representative.
Responding, Nwogu thanked the Ozar youths for their warm reception and confidence in his candidacy. He pledged to make inclusiveness a key component of his representation if elected.
“My intention is to represent all the people of Ukwa East and Ukwa West. I will give attention to youth and women empowerment, infrastructure and efforts to attract more federal projects to our constituency,” Nwogu said.
He also called for unity among the people of Ukwa, stressing that meaningful development would be easier to achieve when communities and stakeholders work together.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with further discussions between Nwogu and the youths as his consultations across Ukwa East and Ukwa West continue ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
