The 2027 Abia South Senatorial race is beginning to generate increased political activity as the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kasarachi Michael Enyinna, held a strategic meeting with party members and stakeholders in Ukwa West Local Government Area.

The meeting focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, promoting unity among members and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 senatorial election.

According to a statement issued after the meeting, Enyinna used the engagement to interact with party members and listen to concerns from the grassroots, while outlining his vision for effective representation, accountability and people-oriented leadership.

The meeting also provided an avenue for stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening the NDC’s presence across Ukwa West and the wider Abia South Senatorial District.

Enyinna said the engagement reaffirmed the commitment of the movement to providing what it described as a “new political direction” for Abia South, with emphasis on development, responsive representation and accountability.

The NDC candidate further expressed confidence that the growing grassroots engagement would translate into stronger political participation across the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting comes as political activities gradually intensify in Abia South, with aspirants and political parties positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Enyinna’s campaign has adopted the message of a “New Voice for Abia South,” with grassroots mobilisation forming a central part of its political strategy.
