Women of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency have endorsed former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, to represent the constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
The women made their position known during the Ikwuano/Umuahia Women’s Programme held in Umuahia on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, where they cited Orji’s track record in public service as the basis for their support.
Praying for the former Speaker, the women declared that there was “no going back to Egypt,” stressing that Orji served the people diligently during his tenure as Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.
They described him as “more than a conqueror,” expressing confidence in his capacity to effectively represent the interests of the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Responding, Orji said the endorsement of the people remained the most important form of support he could receive.
“The best endorsement is that of the people,” he said. “What I just need is for the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency to give me the power so I can serve them and deliver the full dividends of democracy.”
He appealed to the constituents to entrust him with their mandate, promising to use the opportunity to serve and advance the interests of the constituency.
