Speaking during a media parley with journalists in Umuahia, Dr. Anosike described himself as “a welfareist,” stressing that the wellbeing of Abians would remain the central focus of his administration if elected governor.

Responding to questions on the issue of governors declining salaries while receiving security votes, the PDP candidate maintained that every worker deserves to be paid for services rendered.

According to him, he would receive his salary as governor but ensure that security votes are judiciously utilised strictly for the purpose they are meant for.

“Anybody who works deserves to be paid. I will collect my salary at the end of the month and also ensure that security votes are used for what they are meant for,” he stated.

Speaking further on what sets his candidacy apart, Anosike reiterated his people-oriented philosophy.

“I am a welfareist. People first,” he said.

He explained that his vision for Abia State is anchored on improving the standard of living of citizens through enhanced workers’ welfare, job creation, quality healthcare delivery, improved education, and effective social protection programmes.

Dr. Anosike also assured that the security of lives and property would remain a top priority under his administration.

The PDP governorship candidate reaffirmed his campaign slogan, “Anosike Ga Eme Karia,” expressing confidence in his ability to deliver better governance and improved development for the people of Abia State.
