Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, has commiserated with the Izimah family over the death of Deaconess Eunice Chioma Izimah (née Uchendu), who died at the age of 63.
Nwogu, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, attended the burial ceremony of the late Deaconess at Mbano Central School, Umuekechi Asa, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, where he joined family members, friends, church leaders, community leaders and other sympathisers to pay their final respects to the deceased.
Deaconess Eunice Chioma Izimah who died suddenly on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, was a retired administrative officer in the Abia State Civil Service and was remembered as a dedicated Christian and committed member of the United Evangelical Church.
Throughout her lifetime, the deceased was said to have distinguished herself through selfless service, dedication to her family, and commitment to her Christian faith.
She is survived by her husband, Elder O. I. Izimah; two sons; two daughters; grandchildren; and other relatives, friends, and associates who mourn her passing.
In his condolence message, Nwogu described the late Deaconess Eunice Chioma Izimah as a devoted Christian, selfless mother and astute administrator whose life of service and dedication would remain an enduring legacy.
According to him, the deceased’s contributions to her family, profession, church and community would continue to be remembered even after her transition.
He prayed to God to grant the entire Izimah family the fortitude to bear the loss of their beloved wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law and grandmother.
“Until her death, Deaconess Eunice Chioma Izimah was a selfless mother and a treasure. My prayers are with your family,” Nwogu said.
He further prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and urged the bereaved family to draw strength from the meaningful life she lived and the positive impact she made during her lifetime.
Nwogu was accompanied to the burial by several political and community leaders, including Hon. Henry Chilaka, Esq.; former ASOPADEC Sole Administrator, Hon. Tony Mezie Nwaubani; former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Felix Ebere, former Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, among others.
Other dignitaries at the ceremony included Chief Dominic Offorji, Chief John Ajuzieogu, APC State Treasurer, Hon. Chetachi Ahukanna, Chief Chidozie Francis Nwogu, Comrade Alozie Kenneth, Dr. Franklin Akanwa, Eze-elect Nwachukwu Kingsley, the Coordinator and members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mr. Christian Nwagbara, and several other community leaders, friends, and well-wishers.
The burial ceremony provided an opportunity for family members, friends, colleagues, church members, and political associates to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Deaconess Eunice Chioma Izimah.
In their tributes, mourners remembered her as a woman of faith, a devoted family woman, and a responsible professional whose memories would continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
The ceremony ended with prayers for the repose of her soul and for divine comfort, strength, and peace for the Izimah family.
