The APC Flag Bearer for Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency, Chief Barr. Samuel Okezie Nwogu, has felicitated the people of Agbara Kindred, Akwete, on the occasion of their award ceremony and a book launch by one of their illustrious sons.

In a goodwill message delivered at the event held at the Basilica Hall, Akwete, Chief Nwogu commended the kindred for preserving their rich cultural heritage ,history and traditional stool spanning over two hundred (200) years and for recognizing distinguished sons, daughters and friends of the community who have rendered meritorious service to the community.

He specifically congratulated all the awardees, describing them as worthy ambassadors whose dedication, integrity, and service have brought pride and development to the Agbara Kindred and Akwete at large.

He noted that Akwete is not just a community but an institution whose history, culture and values are the pride of the people of Ukwa and further, reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with traditional institutions and community leaders to attract meaningful development and ensure quality representation if elected to represent them at the National Assembly.

Earlier in his remarks, the former Member of the House of Representatives and host of the event,Hon.Uzoma Nkem Abonta, congratulated the awardees on behalf of Agbara Kindred. He noted that they were painstakingly chosen because of their humanitarian services and people-oriented initiatives.

He further described the people of Agbara Kindred as the original owners of Akwete and custodians of Akwete culture, while paying glowing tributes to their founding fathers for laying a solid foundation of unity, culture, and progress in the community.

Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Engr. Zahradeen Usman appreciated the Agbara Kindred for finding them worthy and deserving of the honour. He pledged that the awardees would continue to serve humanity, the community and the country at large with dedication and to uphold the values of Agbara Kindred.

The event attracted the presence of the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice,Abia State,Ikechukwu Uwanna(SAN), a former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly,Hon.Tony Mezie Nwaubani, a former Sole Administrator of ASOPADEC,Elder Henry Chilaka;Esq.,the Natural and Traditional Head of the Agbara Kindred,King Augustine Enyinnaya Ogbulu Opiah, community leaders, party stalwarts, and a large turnout of Agbara sons and daughters home and abroad.

Highpoint of the occasion, was the presentation of awards, cultural displays, and prayers for peace and progress in Ukwa land.
