The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has dismissed speculations of a fallout between him and his predecessor, David Nweze Umahi, affirming that both leaders remain united in advancing the interests of the state and the ruling party.

In a press statement issued after a series of stakeholder engagement meetings of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Nwifuru expressed appreciation to party stakeholders for their active participation and contributions toward strengthening the party’s future in the state.

The Governor emphasized that the APC in Ebonyi remains “one indivisible family,” assuring that all aspirants for various political positions would be given equal treatment in line with agreements reached during the meetings.

Addressing rumours of discord, Nwifuru stated unequivocally that there is no rift between him and former Governor Umahi, who now serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Works. He noted that both leaders are working collaboratively to ensure the continued progress and unity of the party in Ebonyi State.

On internal party matters, the Governor acknowledged that any lingering issues surrounding consensus candidacy would be resolved amicably. He also disclosed plans to meet with all aspirants as part of ongoing consultations.

Governor Nwifuru called on party stakeholders, aspirants, and faithful to remain united, urging them to make necessary sacrifices in the collective interest of the APC.
