The Honourable Minister of Works and immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Engr. David Umahi, has formally signed the nomination form of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, for his second term bid under the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring his full backing for the Governor’s re-election.

Umahi stated that the endorsement aligns with the established political arrangement in Ebonyi State, stressing that it is the turn of Ebonyi North to complete a second tenure in office. He expressed strong confidence that Governor Nwifuru’s re-election would record overwhelming success at the polls.
Speaking during the signing, the former governor reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining unity and respecting the political understanding that has guided the state’s leadership transition over the years.
According to him:
“This is the nomination form for His Excellency Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru for his second tenure. I insist that it is the right of the North in Ebonyi State to go for second tenure and I wholeheartedly support his re-election.
I pray to God that his re-election will be a huge success. I support him with all my heart.”
Umahi’s public endorsement comes amid reported internal political tensions, underscoring his influence within the party and his continued role in shaping the political direction of Ebonyi State.
