Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Akwa Ibom Community residing in Ukwa West Local Government has adopted, Chief Sam Okezie Nwogu as their sole candidate for the House of Representatives,Ukwa Federal Constituency.

The adoption was made on Wednesday,the 30th of September,2026 during a solidarity visit of the Executive of the Akwa Ibom Community in Ukwa West to Chief Sam Nwogu at his Owaza-Asa country home.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Peacemaker Sunday, said the entire Akwa Ibom Community, after due consultation, unanimously resolved to adopt Chief Sam Nwogu as their sole candidate.

According to him, their decision was informed by Chief Nwogu’s antecedents as a detribalized leader, his inclusive style of leadership, and his outstanding achievements while serving as Chairman of ASOPADEC, where he carried non-indigenes along.

He assured Chief Sam Nwogu of the unalloyed support, loyalty and solidarity of the entire Akwa Ibom Community.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Chief Sam Nwogu Campaign Council, Hon.Tony Mezie Nwaubani, appreciated the Akwa Ibom Community for their support and show of love, and assured them that Chief Sam Nwogu will not disappoint them if elected.

In his response, the APC Candidate, Chief Sam Nwogu, thanked the Akwa Ibom Community for finding him worthy of their adoption and for their unalloyed support.

Chief Nwogu assured them that he will run an all-inclusive representation that will give every resident of Ukwa Federal Constituency a sense of belonging, irrespective of state of origin or tribe.

He noted that Ukwa is home to all law-abiding citizens and promised that when elected into the House of Representatives in 2027, he will ensure that both indigenes and non-indigenes benefit from the dividends of quality representation.

The visit ended with prayers for peace, unity and the success of Chief Sam Nwogu’s aspiration and was attended by Hon.Innocent Chiuwah and other members of the campaign council.
