In a statement issued on Friday, the campaign team described the reports circulating on social media as “false, baseless, and misleading,” accusing unnamed individuals of attempting to create political tension ahead of the party primaries.

The statement maintained that Mayor Igbokwe remains fully in the contest and has not entered into any agreement to step down from the race.

According to the media office, the aspirant remains committed to providing quality representation, inclusive leadership, and people-oriented service to constituents across the federal constituency.

The statement also addressed ongoing discussions around zoning and equity within the constituency, insisting that no official position of the party has declared the House of Representatives seat exclusively zoned to Umuahia North or micro-zoned to Ohuhu.

It argued that political offices within the constituency have historically rotated among different blocs without controversy, adding that democratic participation should remain peaceful and issue-based.

The media office further alleged that the rumours of withdrawal were part of attempts to mislead supporters and influence public perception ahead of the primaries.

Supporters, party faithful, delegates, and members of the public were urged to disregard the claims and remain focused on democratic engagement.

The statement added that Mayor Igbokwe continues consultations across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South as part of his campaign for the House of Representatives seat.
