Lawyers to Nigerian businessman and entertainment personality, Mr. Paschal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, have demanded the immediate withdrawal of what they described as defamatory allegations made against their client by Hon. Chinedu Ogah.

The demand was contained in a press statement and legal notice dated September 11, 2026, issued by Ojukwu Chikaosolu SAN & Co., solicitors to Cubana Chief Priest.

According to the lawyers, Ogah, who they said appeared to be speaking in defence of the Ebonyi State Governor, allegedly made what they described as “vicious and defamatory” statements against their client during a recent press conference.

The lawyers alleged that instead of highlighting projects executed by the present Ebonyi State administration, Ogah launched an “unwarranted attack” on Cubana Chief Priest.

They specifically took exception to allegations in which their client was allegedly described as a “money launderer” and accused of employing hoodlums to disrupt or destroy the “City Boy” event in Owerri, Imo State.

The lawyers described the allegations as reckless, baseless and without lawful justification, arguing that they could expose their client to public hatred, ridicule and reputational damage.

They also accused Ogah of repeatedly invoking the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a manner they considered inappropriate and capable of creating a misleading impression of presidential involvement or endorsement.

The solicitors said their client would not be drawn into exchanging unverified allegations, particularly concerning reports of foreign currency interceptions at Enugu Airport and alleged connections to persons or interests in Ebonyi State.

The lawyers further stated that Cubana Chief Priest’s brand has a global reach, noting that he has more than five million followers on Instagram alone, and that any deliberate attack on his reputation could have significant commercial consequences.

Consequently, the lawyers demanded that Ogah immediately withdraw the alleged defamatory statements, issue an unreserved public apology through the same media and platforms where the allegations were made or circulated, and cease from making or republishing further false or defamatory statements concerning their client.

They warned that failure to comply with the demands would result in the commencement of legal proceedings in Abuja without further notice.

According to the legal notice, the proposed suit would seek, among other reliefs, N10 billion in damages for the alleged injury to Cubana Chief Priest’s reputation and global brand.

The solicitors said their client had expressly reserved all his legal rights and remedies.
