He also commended the Guest Speaker, Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor, for his message on spiritual revival and the need for the Church to return to its original position and mandate.
Dr. Anyaso said the Church has an important role to play in shaping society, particularly by promoting values of integrity, morality, compassion and responsible leadership. He stressed the need for Christians to be more deliberate about supporting leaders who can restore hope in governance and society.
In his welcome address, the District Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Henry Ochuba Emelike, welcomed the distinguished guests and worshippers to the annual Mega Worship, describing the gathering as a testament to God’s faithfulness despite the economic challenges confronting Nigerians.
Drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:8–9, Rev. Emelike noted that Christians may face difficulties and pressures but must remain resilient in their faith, stressing that the challenges facing individuals, churches and the nation should not lead to despair.
The District Superintendent specifically commended the administration of Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, stating that the Governor’s foundation in faith had contributed to his determination to tackle corruption and promote good governance in Abia State. He consequently emphasised the need for greater investment in institutions that promote morality and godly values.
Speaking through his representatives, Dr. Anyaso appreciated the leadership of the Umuahia Central Jerusalem District for the invitation and commended the District Superintendent for his leadership and commitment to the growth of the Church.
