The Abia Arise Movement in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State has announced plans for a massive political rally aimed at reaffirming grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The event, christened “Abia Arise Aba North LGA Mega Rally 2026,” will be held under the theme, “The Governor’s 2027 Return Is Sacrosanct,” underscoring the movement’s resolve to sustain Governor Otti’s administration while consolidating the reforms and developmental strides recorded across Abia State.
According to the organisers, the highly anticipated rally is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba (formally Abia State Polytechnic), where thousands of supporters are expected to converge in what is projected to be one of the largest political gatherings in Aba North this year.
The rally is expected to draw an impressive array of political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women, professionals, market associations, artisans, party faithful, and residents from across Aba North and other parts of the state. The broad participation is expected to reflect the growing confidence in Governor Alex Otti’s leadership and his vision for a prosperous, progressive, and transformed Abia.
Organisers explained that beyond celebrating the achievements of the current administration, the rally will serve as a strategic platform for deepening grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 governorship election. It is also expected to reinforce public commitment to the vision of building a modern, prosperous, and transformed state under the widely embraced slogan, A New Abia Is Here.
The Coordinator of Abia Arise in Aba North Local Government Area, Amb. Kenneth Emelike, called on members of the movement and the general public to turn out in large numbers to ensure the event records overwhelming success. He noted that the rally would further strengthen political participation at the grassroots while reinforcing support for Governor Otti’s development-driven agenda.
