In further demonstrstion of his people-centred leadership model and as part of his commitment to improving security and enhancing the safety of the people of Abia Central, Senator Austin Akobundu has installed solar-powered streetlights at the Army Base in Ariam, Ikwuano LGA.
The installation which was done in continuation of his “Light-Up Abia Central Initiative” will provide improved illumination, enhance internal security, further motivate personnel, and significantly boost the operational performance of the military in its duty to the people.
In his message to the military leadership at the Base, Senator Akobundu reiterated that the security of the people of Abia Central remains one of his cardinal commitments. He noted that ensuring security installations are well lit will assure security agents of their own safety and motivate them to better secure residents of the District. While appreciating the sacrifices made by the military to keep Nigeria safe, he assured of continued cooperation and partnership between his Office and security agencies.
The Army Base is the latest addition to the numerous locations, including markets, streets, learning institutions, and communities, where Senator Akobundu has sited his solar streetlight project for the benefit of the people.
