President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 new officials into 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, appointed as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
According to the appointments, the REA board will also include Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as Non-Executive Directors, while the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and the three previously appointed Executive Directors will remain on the board.
For the National Salary and Wages Commission, Major General Junaid Bindawa was appointed Chairman, while former Lagos lawmaker, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, will serve as Secretary. Other appointments to the commission include Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
In the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was appointed Secretary, following his transfer from the National Lottery Trust Fund, where he served as Executive Secretary.
President Tinubu also appointed Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, while Dr. Akinola Odeyemi was named Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).
Other appointments include Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin, replacing the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
The Fiscal Responsibility Commission will be headed by Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu.
At the Federal Housing Authority, Gisaor Vincent Iorja was appointed Executive Director (Finance). Iorja is an economist, legal scholar, and currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission.
The Presidency stated that all the appointments take immediate effect.
