The Association of Ndiolume Progressives (ANP), a body of graduates and undergraduates from Ndiolume Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, has commended its Patron and benefactor, Engr. Obidike Nekon Uzu, for his sustained commitment to educational development and student welfare.
In a statement signed by its President, Comr. Matthew Chukwudi, the association described Engr. Uzu as a “father figure and beacon of hope” whose consistent interventions have transformed the academic journey of students within the community.
According to the group, for over 13 years, students from Ndiolume pursuing tertiary education have benefited from financial support that has enabled them to complete their studies without disruption due to school fees or related challenges.
The association specifically highlighted Engr. Uzu’s annual bursary scheme, noting that over 80 students benefited from the 2026 edition, each receiving ₦100,000 to support their academic pursuits.
“His generosity has strengthened the hopes and aspirations of students and positioned Ndiolume as one of the leading communities with a high number of graduates and undergraduates in Ngwa land,” the statement read.
The ANP leadership further expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, emphasizing that Engr. Uzu’s contributions have had a far-reaching impact on families and the broader community.
They also pledged to uphold the values of excellence and service exemplified by their benefactor, while praying for God’s continued blessings and prosperity upon him.
The association noted that Engr. Uzu’s legacy of educational empowerment serves as a model for community-driven development and youth advancement.
