In a significant political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ndoki Liberation Assembly has formally adopted Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq, as its sole candidate for the Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency, placing equity, political rotation and inclusive representation at the centre of its declaration.

The endorsement, announced on November 4, 2026, at the Ohanso Ndoki Playground, followed consultations with elders, women and youths across Ndoki land.

The declaration represents a public show of support for Nwogu by the Assembly and introduces a renewed conversation about the long-standing expectation of political rotation between Ukwa East and Ukwa West.

The Assembly argued that Ukwa East had occupied the Federal House of Representatives seat for approximately 20 years and that the principle of fairness demands that Ukwa West should have the opportunity to produce the next representative.

It stressed that its position was founded on equity, justice and political balance rather than sentiment, describing Nwogu as its preferred candidate to represent the constituency in the 2027 elections.

The development also places the question of equitable representation firmly within the political conversation in Ukwa, particularly as stakeholders from both local government areas consider the future of their shared federal constituency.

In his remarks, Nwogu recalled his political relationship with former representative Hon. Uzoma Abonta and incumbent representative Chief Chris Nkwonta. He disclosed that he supported Nkwonta during the 2023 general elections and served in his campaign team.

He expressed disappointment that his emergence as the APC flag bearer for the 2027 election had been challenged in court, presenting the development as part of the political circumstances surrounding his aspiration.

Looking beyond the election, Nwogu outlined his proposed approach to constituency representation, promising to convene a town hall meeting within his first three months in office to document the needs and priorities of the people given his experience in the National Assembly.

He also pledged to donate vehicles to traditional rulers across Ndoki land as part of his proposed engagement with traditional institutions.

“I have not been in the National Assembly before, but, by God’s grace, if I emerge victorious, three months after my inauguration, I will convene a town hall meeting to take records of what our people need. I will purchase vehicles for the traditional rulers in Ndoki land,” he stated.

Beyond politics, Nwogu announced the formal adoption of little Miss Rejoice Okekenwa Ekeke, whose mother died shortly after delivering her.

He disclosed that the child had been enrolled on his company’s payroll and formally adopted her as his seventh grandchild, assuring that her welfare and upbringing would receive his attention.

Adding to the humanitarian gesture, Chief Okey Kanu donated N100,000 towards the child’s upkeep.

The gathering attracted the full complement of the Chief Okezie Nwogu *“Igwe Bu Ike”* Campaign Council, Ndoki stakeholders, women and youths from Ohanso community and neighbouring communities.

The Assembly’s declaration and Nwogu’s commitments have added a new dimension to political discussions surrounding the 2027 Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency election.

For the Ndoki Liberation Assembly, the message was clear, political representation must reflect fairness, inclusion and the shared interests of Ukwa East and Ukwa West.

Its formal adoption of Nwogu stands as a significant public endorsement in the unfolding political contest.
