Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of 101 Special Advisers (SPAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) to serve in various capacities in the state government.
The appointments were contained in a public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, dated Monday, September 21, 2026.
According to the announcement, seven persons were appointed Special Advisers, while six were appointed Senior Special Assistants. The remaining 88 appointees were named Special Assistants.
Among those appointed as Special Advisers are Chief S.N.C. Nwagu, Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution and Mediation; Hon. Dr. Fidelis Odo, Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs and Co-ordination; Augustine Okoli, Special Adviser on Policy Affairs and Analysis; Hon. Pedro Nwankwo, Special Adviser on Stakeholders Relations and Community Affairs; Chimezie Nkwuo, Special Adviser on Economic Development; Chief Vitalis Okonkwo, Special Adviser on Grassroot Coordination; and Peter Andy Omeje, Special Adviser on Commerce and Business Development.
The Senior Special Advisers include Rachael Okonkwo, appointed to oversee Film and Creative Industry Development; Barr. Okey Ude, Inter-Party and Mobilization; Hon. Chinedu Chukwunwike, Party Monitoring; Barr. Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe, Legal and Regulatory Compliance; Chukwudi Ozoeluba, Boundary and Land Dispute Resolution; and Frank Udemezue, Small and Medium Enterprise Development.
The Special Assistants were assigned portfolios covering a wide range of areas, including environmental protection, market sanitation, infrastructure maintenance, rural development, youth empowerment, women mobilisation, community engagement, public communication, technology and innovation, security intelligence, social welfare, political liaison and land development.
Other portfolios include forest protection and conservation, health facility maintenance, civic education, traditional affairs, cooperative development, ecological management, urban beautification, industrial harmony, cultural orientation, public utilities, digital innovation, sports development, protocol, monitoring and evaluation, social media and project monitoring.
The announcement stated that all the appointments take effect immediately.
Prof. Onyia signed the statement on behalf of the Enugu State Government.
The latest appointments expand the number of political and administrative aides serving under the Mbah administration, with the appointees assigned responsibilities across different sectors and areas of government-community engagement.
