The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) Senatorial Candidate for Abia South, Dr. Kasarachi Michael Enyinna, has pledged to collaborate with relevant government agencies and stakeholders to promote tourism, preserve cultural heritage and unlock economic opportunities across Abia South Senatorial District.
Enyinna made the pledge on Monday while attending the New Yam Festival hosted by His Royal Majesty, Eze Love Wogu, Onye Nwe Ala I of Umuola Egbelu Autonomous Community, at his palace in Egbelu Umuola.
Speaking during the colourful cultural celebration, the financial expert emphasised the need to harness the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of Abia South as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and community development.
He noted that the senatorial district possesses significant cultural and tourism assets which, if properly developed and promoted, could attract investment, generate employment and improve the livelihoods of residents.
Enyinna also commended the traditional ruler, Eze Love Wogu, for his dedication to preserving and promoting the cultural values and traditions of his people.
He described traditional institutions as critical stakeholders in safeguarding cultural identity, promoting unity and sustaining the customs and heritage of local communities.
The NDC senatorial candidate further stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration among government agencies, traditional rulers, private investors and other stakeholders to identify, develop and promote tourism opportunities across Abia South.
He maintained that deliberate investment in cultural tourism would not only preserve the district’s heritage but also open new avenues for economic empowerment and sustainable development.
