Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum E. Orji, has felicitated with teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, describing them as critical builders of the nation’s future.

Orji, in a goodwill message marking the celebration, commended teachers for their dedication, patience, sacrifice and commitment to educating and shaping future generations.

According to him, teachers go beyond imparting academic knowledge, as they also inspire dreams, nurture character, develop talents and equip young people with the values and skills required to contribute meaningfully to society.

He noted that professionals and leaders across different sectors owe part of their development to the guidance and influence of teachers.

The former Speaker said he recognised the indispensable role of teachers in building a prosperous and educated society, stressing that their contribution remains vital to national development.

Orji also acknowledged the challenges confronting many educators, commending them for remaining committed to their responsibilities despite difficult circumstances.

He called for renewed efforts to strengthen the teaching profession, provide conducive learning environments and ensure that teachers receive the recognition and support commensurate with the responsibilities entrusted to them.

“Your work may not always receive the recognition it deserves, but its impact reaches generations,” he said.

Orji expressed appreciation to teachers who continue to educate and inspire children, describing their efforts as an investment in the future.

He wished teachers across the country a happy World Teachers’ Day.
