Sustainable Development Expert, Entrepreneur and Technocrat
Dr. Godswill Agu Egbe is a Sustainable Development Expert, Entrepreneur, Technocrat, and Project Management and Financial Sector Specialist, bringing over 27 years of professional experience across development finance, agribusiness development, financial services, pension administration, institutional capacity building, enterprise development, and strategic business advisory.
He brings extensive experience in leading and coordinating development-focused projects, institutional strengthening programmes, and enterprise development initiatives across the financial and agribusiness sectors in Nigeria and Ghana. His expertise spans agricultural finance, business development, project management, operational planning, risk management, financial inclusion, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable enterprise development.
Throughout his career, Dr. Egbe has provided technical and strategic support to financial institutions, development programmes, agribusinesses, public- and private-sector organisations, designing and facilitating technical training programmes in agricultural lending, financial analysis, portfolio risk management, product development, customer relationship management, management information systems, operational planning, and institutional strengthening.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sane-Konsult International Limited, where he provides strategic leadership in project management, enterprise development, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL), institutional advisory services, and business development.
Between 2017 and 2024, he served as Project Manager/General Manager with BUA International, leading strategic initiatives in cotton value-chain development and textile and garment industrial cluster projects, with responsibilities spanning project planning, stakeholder coordination, infrastructure development support, policy engagement, and investor mobilisation.
Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Finance Specialist Consultant with Connexus Corporation under the USAID-funded Financing Ghana Agriculture Project (FinGAP), delivering technical support and institutional capacity development to financial institutions in Ghana. He also held senior management positions in the pension industry, including roles with Future Unity Glanvills Pensions Limited, ARM Pension Managers, and First Alliance Pension & Benefits Limited.
His development-sector experience further includes strategic and technical roles in major agricultural and enterprise initiatives. He served as Strategic Project Lead/Technical Coordinator for a ginger value-chain development initiative empowering women and youth through commercial agriculture, and participated in the design and development of the Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture (EYiA) programme, a youth-focused agricultural enterprise initiative promoting modern farming systems, innovation, and sustainable agricultural entrepreneurship.
Dr. Egbe pairs this depth of professional experience with strong academic credentials: a PhD in Financial Mathematics from Abia State University, an MSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Abuja/National Mathematical Centre, an MSc in Economics from Imo State University, and a BSc (Hons) in Statistics from Abia State University.
He is also an accomplished researcher, with publications and research interests spanning financial mathematics, pension systems, and financial inclusion, an academic and professional foundation that grounds his work in quantitative analysis, research, strategic planning, and evidence-based decision-making.
Beyond his professional engagements, Dr. Egbe provides board-level leadership across agribusiness, consulting, financial services, energy, and green-economy initiatives. He is Chairman of Sane-Konsult International Limited, Seed and Tuber Agrovac International Limited, Sane Oil & Gas Limited, and Sane GreenEnergy Limited, and serves on the boards of Koboweb Microfinance Bank, AgroLog Limited, and SCL (Sa’i’anwara ‘Iju’mai Consultaire Ltd).
