Hon. Uba Chiemezuo Anyanwu on Wednesday, March 6, formally declared his intention to contest for the Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency seat in the Abia State House of Assembly.

Anyanwu made the declaration at the Umuomai Women Development Centre, Nbawsi, during a meeting with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.
Addressing party leaders at the gathering, Anyanwu said his decision to join the race was driven by his passion and determination to represent the people of Isiala Ngwa North effectively at the state assembly.
He pledged to sponsor bills and motions aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of the people. According to him, his legislative focus would include improved healthcare facilities, policies and initiatives that would create employment opportunities for youths, and reforms to strengthen the educational system through ICT, vocational and entrepreneurship training.
The aspirant also promised support for farmers through the provision of improved agricultural seedlings and other agricultural support programmes. He further assured party members that he would work collaboratively with both the legislative and executive arms of government to drive sustainable development policies across the constituency.
Anyanwu appealed to party leaders and members to support his ambition and help him secure the APC ticket during the party primaries. He assured them that his representation would be effective and impactful to the economic development of the constituency.
In his remarks, the APC Chairman in Isiala Ngwa North, Hon. Onyeukwu Nwogu, commended Anyanwu for his aspiration and assured party members that the primaries under his leadership would be free, fair and transparent.
He encouraged Anyanwu to remain committed and continue engaging with party stakeholders throughout the consultation process.
The event was attended by party faithful, including youths who accompanied Anyanwu to the declaration ceremony in a show of solidarity and support for his ambition.
The event concluded with a prayer session led by the party chairman alongside other party leaders.
