In a resignation letter dated April 14, 2026, Uche stated that his decision to leave the APC was driven by his desire to follow his conscience after nearly two years in the party.

Uche, who was the running mate to Chief Okey Ahiwe in the 2023 Abia State governorship election, noted that he joined the APC in search of a platform to make greater political impact and affect more lives. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with his experience in the party, stating he could no longer maintain the conviction to remain.

His resignation comes just days after a reported meeting with Abia State Governor Alex Otti, fueling speculations about his next political move.
