The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, has called on residents of the constituency to promote peace, unity, tolerance and mutual respect as prerequisites for sustainable development.
Orji made the call in a goodwill message issued to mark the 2026 International Day of Peace, observed on Monday.
He stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, dialogue and responsible citizenship in strengthening communities and improving the welfare of the people.
The APC candidate urged constituents to serve as ambassadors of peace in their homes, workplaces, communities and places of worship, noting that peaceful relationships and mutual understanding were essential to achieving collective progress.
Orji also expressed hope that the International Day of Peace would inspire renewed commitment to unity, compassion and collective responsibility among the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia.
He reaffirmed the need for stakeholders and residents to work together towards building a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous future for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency and Nigeria at large.
