The National Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Abia South, Dr. Kasarachi Michael Enyinna, has extended his consultation and engagement with constituents to South Africa, where he interacted with members of the Igbo community and participated in a New Yam Festival.
Enyinna, during the visit, joined members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other members of the wider Igbo community in South Africa for the cultural celebration.
As part of the event, the Abia South senatorial candidate participated in the traditional cutting of the yam, an important ritual associated with the New Yam Festival and the celebration of Igbo heritage.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Enyinna to engage with Igbo leaders, professionals and members of the business community resident in South Africa.
Discussions during the engagement reportedly focused on his vision for greater representation and development in Abia South, as well as the need for continued connection between constituents at home and those living in the diaspora.
Enyinna said the consultation was part of his commitment to reaching out to Ndi Abia South wherever they reside and maintaining meaningful engagement with the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described the New Yam Festival as an important platform for celebrating Igbo culture, unity, heritage and communal fellowship.
The event brought together members of the Igbo community to celebrate their cultural identity while providing an avenue for interaction and networking among community leaders and professionals.
The engagement forms part of Enyinna’s ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.
