The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially replaced Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu with Prince Paul Ikonne as the party’s candidate for the Abia South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development was reportedly contained in the party’s Appeal Committee report, which leaked online on Monday. According to sources within the party, the report was subsequently forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in a letter jointly signed by the APC National Chairman and National Secretary.
The decision is expected to bring an end to the prolonged internal dispute over who would emerge as the party’s flag bearer for the Abia South senatorial race in 2027.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu nor Prince Paul Ikonne had officially reacted to the decision.
