The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Elder Abraham Amah, has emerged as the party’s deputy governorship candidate ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

Elder Amah, a former Vice Chairman of the PDP in the state, was unveiled as the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, during a press conference held at the PDP State Secretariat, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia.

Announcing his choice, Dr. Anosike described Elder Amah as a loyal and committed party stalwart who remained steadfast with the PDP during challenging times when many members left the party.

According to the governorship candidate, the process of selecting a running mate was thorough and involved extensive consultations with the party leadership at both the state and national levels.

Dr. Anosike said the Anosike/Amah ticket represents a team committed to recovering Abia through people-centred governance. He described the ticket as a welfarist platform that would prioritize the welfare of every Abia resident.

“The greatest infrastructure is the people,” Anosike stated, emphasizing that his administration would place the highest priority on the well-being and development of the people of Abia State.

The emergence of Elder Abraham Amah as the PDP’s deputy governorship candidate is expected to strengthen the party’s preparations for the upcoming governorship election in the state.
