The Bende Farmers Association (BFA) has officially endorsed Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji, as its preferred candidate for the Bende Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The endorsement, announced during a meeting of the association, followed what the leadership described as a thorough assessment of aspirants seeking to represent the constituency in the National Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, and members of the association, the Coordinator of the Bende Farmers Association, Comrade Ukaegbu Victor Onyeabo, said the decision was reached after a careful evaluation of the candidates’ records, leadership qualities, and commitment to community development.
According to him, Dr. Anyaso distinguished himself through his longstanding humanitarian interventions, support for grassroots development, and vision for the advancement of Bende Federal Constituency.
Responding to the endorsement, Dr. Chima Anyaso expressed profound appreciation to the Bende Farmers Association, describing it as one of the most vibrant and influential socio-economic organizations in Bende Local Government Area.
He thanked the association for the confidence reposed in him and assured members that agriculture would receive priority attention if elected into the House of Representatives.
Dr. Anyaso pledged to champion policies that would improve agricultural productivity, facilitate access to federal support programmes, and provide the incentives and institutional backing needed to enable farmers achieve sustainable growth.
He assured the association that he would work to ensure farmers in Bende enjoy effective representation and benefit from agricultural interventions of the Federal Government.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Chima Anyaso Foundation and member of the campaign team, Dr. Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, urged members of the association to mobilize their extensive grassroots network in support of Dr. Anyaso’s aspiration.
He called on farmers across the constituency to actively participate in the campaign and work towards ensuring victory at the polls in 2027.
The event also featured the presentation of premium locally processed palm oil to Dr. Anyaso by the association as a symbolic gesture representing the fruitfulness of the land and the resilience of Bende farmers.
In another major development, the Bende Farmers Association entered into a strategic partnership with Genuine Farmers, a move aimed at fostering greater collaboration within the agricultural sector and strengthening farmers’ advocacy in the constituency.
The association further announced plans to integrate selected members into the Ofuji Campaign Team, a decision intended to ensure that the interests and voices of grassroots farmers remain central to the campaign and future legislative agenda.
