The agreement marks the culmination of a remarkable story spanning more than four decades. Mike and Garry Robinson, who spent part of their childhood in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom over 40 years ago, returned to reconnect with the country that shaped their early lives and inspired their fondness for the iconic Chapman beverage.

Speaking after the signing ceremony in Lagos, Anyaso described the partnership as more than a commercial venture, saying it represents the renewal of enduring friendships and the strengthening of economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

According to him, what began as a chance meeting with the Robinson brothers developed into a lasting friendship that has now evolved into a strategic business alliance aimed at promoting innovation, investment and growth within Africa’s beverage industry.

As part of the ceremony, Anyaso presented the Robinson brothers with the Nigerian Coat of Arms as a symbol of their enduring connection to the country. They were also honoured with traditional Igbo Isi Agu attire, customised crested hand fans bearing their names, traditional beads and the iconic red cap in celebration of the partnership and Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

The CAADES Group chairman also acknowledged the contributions of the partnership’s strategic collaborator, Dr. Efosa Ogbeide, and other stakeholders whose support helped bring the vision to reality.

Anyaso expressed confidence that the agreement would create new business opportunities in Nigeria while strengthening commercial relationships across Africa.

He described the initiative as “more than the launch of a beverage,” adding that it is “the beginning of a journey that celebrates history, honours friendship, bridges cultures and creates a lasting legacy for generations to come.”
