An Abuja-based legal practitioner, Barrister Graham Ochogwu, has faulted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for declaring Prince Christopher Enweremadu wanted, describing the move as erroneous, illegal, and contemptuous of a subsisting court order.

According to Ochogwu, an order of the Abia State High Court had restrained the EFCC, its agents and officers from inviting, arresting, investigating or prosecuting Enweremadu, pending the hearing and determination of a motion on notice.

He noted that the order was duly served and acknowledged by the anti-graft agency.

The lawyer further argued that Enweremadu was never formally invited by the EFCC, nor was he notified, summoned or served with any court processes before the public declaration.

Ochogwu urged EFCC Chairman, Olanipekun Olukayode, to withdraw the notice and probe officials of the commission allegedly compromised by political actors to embarrass the former commissioner. He stressed that Enweremadu, who recently served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Abia State, had always discharged his duties diligently and above board.

The Economic and financial crime commission this morning through it social media channels declared the former Commissioner wanted .
