The Anambra State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Bernard Udemezue, popularly known as Isi-Enyi, for three months after he failed to honour an invitation from the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

Isi-Enyi, who has been vocal on social media in his criticism of Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has repeatedly accused the state government of misappropriation of funds, contract irregularities, and diversion of local government allocations.

In a controversial Facebook post, he further alleged that the late Anambra lawmaker, Hon. Azuka, was killed in connection with an alleged impeachment plot against the governor, claiming that suspects earlier arrested in the matter later escaped.

He, however, retracted the statement during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, withdrawing insinuations that the state government was responsible for the lawmaker’s death.

Isi-Enyi also stirred controversy by publishing details of constituency allowances allegedly received by members of the House from the executive. The tension escalated on Saturday, August 23, 2025, when Isi-Enyi and his supporters staged a protest in Omor, Ayamelum LGA, where Governor Soludo was billed to visit.

They attempted to gain access to the state box but were prevented by security operatives attached to the governor.

Prior to the event, Isi-Enyi had posted online, vowing to confront the governor with placards.

Following these developments, the Anambra Assembly resolved to suspend Isi-Enyi for a period of three months.
