Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso has declared that he will not seek a third term in office if elected to represent the people of Bende, pledging to respect the existing rotational arrangement between the Umunna and Ikwuisii blocs.

Anyaso made the declaration during the unveiling of his manifesto and the signing of a social contract with the people of Bende held today in Uzuakoli.

He said he would not regard political power as his personal property, stressing that leadership should be guided by the interests of the people.

“I will not see power as my personal property. I will uphold the agreement between Umunna and Ikwuisii, which honours eight years rotation of power between the two blocks,” he said.

The aspirant also expressed confidence in his ability to provide what he described as good governance to the people of Bende, urging the electorate to hold him accountable to the promises contained in his manifesto.

“You can hold me accountable in everything itemised in our manifesto,” Anyaso said.

He further pledged to maintain an open and consultative style of leadership, saying the same manner in which he engaged the people during the manifesto unveiling would guide his approach if elected.

“How we are sitting today is how we are going to sit when I get to Abuja to chart a way forward for Ndi Bende,” he stated.

Anyaso emphasised that political leadership should not be treated as a personal enterprise, promising to place the interests of his constituents ahead of his personal interests.

“Leadership is not a personal business. I am going to represent your interest, and it should come first before my own interest,” he said.

He added that his campaign was built around experience, knowledge and collective representation, assuring the people that their interests would be effectively pursued at the national level.

“We are carrying a wealth of knowledge to Abuja. We will deliver,” he said.

He urges the people to vote for all Labour Party Candidates in the 2027 general election.
