Senator Austin Akobundu has congratulated the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, CFR, on his recognition as Lawmaker of the Year (House of Representatives) at the Daily Times Nigeria Centenary Anniversary Celebrations and Times Heroes Awards 2026 in Abuja.
Akobundu, in a congratulatory message, described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Kalu’s contributions to nation-building and service to humanity.
According to him, the Deputy Speaker earned the honour through “dedication and hard work” in the discharge of his responsibilities and his commitment to national development.
He expressed confidence that the recognition would further encourage Kalu to sustain his efforts toward advancing the country’s development and promoting humanitarian causes.
Akobundu also commended the organisers of the Daily Times Nigeria Centenary Anniversary Celebrations and Times Heroes Awards for recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in public service.
