Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has claimed that former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, achieved in one local government area what former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, could not accomplish during his eight years in office.

In a statement on Friday, Omokri criticised Obi’s supporters — popularly known as “Obidients” — for allegedly attacking Akwa Ibom’s state-owned airline, Ibom Air, over a recent incident, which he said may not have been the airline’s fault. He noted that the same group had never mounted such a campaign against Air Peace, despite its “worse customer service record.”
Omokri challenged Obi’s record in office, stating that Anambra State under Obi lagged far behind Akwa Ibom in infrastructure, education, sports development, and other sectors. He pointed out that Akwa Ibom boasts a state-built airport, sea port initiatives, and an airline that generated ₦96 billion in turnover in 2014.
“Akwa Ibom did not wait for the Federal Government or cry marginalisation. They developed themselves. In 1999, Akwa Ibom was like hell. Today, it is heaven in Nigeria,” Omokri said.
He added that he had photographic evidence to support his claims, and prayed for Akwa Ibom to “continue rising above enemies of the state.”
