Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, has received a “Legacy Builder” award from the Apostolic Christian Church Mission, Obehie, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
The award was presented during a church service at the mission on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Nwogu, who was represented by Comrade Kenneth Alozie, used the occasion to seek the prayers and support of constituents for his political ambition.
In his remarks, Nwogu expressed appreciation to the church leadership and members for the recognition, describing the award as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with service to humanity.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful to receive the ‘Legacy Builder’ Award. It signifies acceptance and a reward for good works,” Nwogu said.
He said the recognition was not merely an acknowledgment of his past contributions but also a call to greater commitment to service.
“I do not see this recognition merely as an award, but as a call to greater responsibility, greater commitment and greater service to God and humanity,” he added.
Nwogu said the honour had further strengthened his resolve to remain committed to public service and the wellbeing of the people.
“This award has reminded me that leadership is fundamentally about service. I therefore pledge to remain more committed to serving our people,” he said.
The APC candidate also urged members of the Christian community to remain steadfast in their faith and uphold values capable of promoting peaceful and responsible communities. He identified love, honesty, compassion and selfless service as values that should guide individuals and communities.
Speaking on his political ambition, Nwogu appealed to the people of Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency to support his bid to represent them in the National Assembly in 2027. “As we approach the 2027 House of Representatives election, I humbly seek your prayers, encouragement and support to ensure visibility,” he said.
Nwogu said his aspiration was driven by his desire to serve the people and contribute to the development of the constituency. He pledged to continue engaging with constituents, listening to their concerns and remaining accessible to them.
The APC candidate expressed optimism that, with God’s guidance and the collective efforts of the people, Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency could attain greater development and progress.
He thanked the Apostolic Christian Church Mission, Obehie Mission, for the honour and prayed for God’s blessings upon its leadership, members and ministry, pledging his continued support for the church.
