The Seven-man Investigation Committee on the Alleged Vandalisation of Agburuezeukwu Primary Health Centre (PHC), Isialangwa North LGA, has submitted it’s report, exonerating Hon. Chisom Nwogbe from allegations leveled against him and maintaining that there was no evidence of vandalism in the Primary Health Centre.

It could be recalled that, following an allegation of vandalism at *the* Primary Health Centre at Umuezegu Nsulu in Agburuezeukwu Autonomous community against Hon. Chisom Nwogbe, the Abia state government empanelled an investigative committee most of whom were members of security agencies to unravel the truth in the allegations.

Presenting the committee’s report to the *Chief of Staff to the Governor,* in Government House Umuahia on Thursday, July 17, 2026, the Chairman of the committee, Assistant Commandant Emma Ogbuehi (Rtd.), stated that its investigation confirmed that Hon. Chisom Nwaogbe visited the health centre on the said June 27, 2026, to remove some building materials he had left behind after completing an earlier maintenance contract at the facility.

According to him, the materials included two metal doors, fifteen drums of paint, twenty-two empty paint buckets and one and a half lengths of long span aluminium roofing sheets. He disclosed that after discussions involving the Officer-in-Charge and the current contractor, it was agreed that the materials should not be removed immediately, prompting Hon. Nwogbe to offload the items already loaded into a tricycle.

The report further revealed that the situation later escalated when Mr. Kenneth Nwogwugwu allegedly interfered and compelled the vigilante group to move Hon. Nwogbe and the tricycle rider to the vigilante office in Umuezegu civic hall, where both were handcuffed.

The committee also found out that one Mr. Ikpeama Chinemere, popularly known as “Table Shaker,” recorded and circulated a video of the incident on social media, a fact Mr Chinemere admitted to before the investigative committee.

Mr. Ogbuehi said that there was no evidence of vandalism or theft of any government property, adding that Hon. Chisom Nwaogbe was instead publicly assaulted, illegally detained and defamed through the viral social media video.

The committee also found that the two individuals linked to the incident were neither members of the community nor the vigilante group and informed that details of the recommendations of the committee were contained in the report

Receiving the report on behalf of the Governor, the Chief of Staff to the Governor Pastor Caleb Ajagba commended the committee for its painstaking work and professionalism in unraveling the facts surrounding the incident.

He noted that, when the report surfaced on social media alleging the vandalisation of the Agburuezeukwu Health Centre, government felt that the appropriate thing was to investigate and establish the true circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Chief of Staff noted that the committee’s findings clearly established that no Vandalisation occurred, describing the incident as an apparent case of character assassination.

“From your report, it has been established that no vandalization took place. Rather, it was more or less a case of character assassination, and we thank you for bringing the truth to light. Pastor Ajagba stated.
