The Abia State Government has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates for the forthcoming examination for appointment as Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service.

In a circular dated June 9, 2026, issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government and signed by Dr. Emmanuel C. Meribole, the government announced that the recruitment process has advanced to the examination stage following the successful application, screening, and shortlisting of eligible officers.
According to the statement, the examination is scheduled to hold in the last week of June 2026, while detailed information regarding the exact date, venue, and time will be communicated to applicants in due course.
The examination will test candidates in critical areas including:
Public Service Rules
Public Policy
Financial Regulations
ICT
Budgeting
Procurement
Memo Writing
Current Affairs
Public Presentation
Psychometric Testing
The government urged all eligible directors and shortlisted officers to prepare adequately for the exercise.
Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have also been directed to bring the contents of the circular to the attention of all concerned officers.
