The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its primary election for the Abia South Senatorial District, with Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, the current lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, emerging as the clear winner.

Erondu Jnr secured a decisive victory after sweeping all six local government areas in the district. The final results were announced today at the APC Abia South Senatorial District Primary Election Collation Centre in Aba by the Collation Officer, Prof. Emmanuel Kalu Agbaeze.

According to the collated results, Erondu Jnr polled a total of 16,640 votes, comfortably defeating his closest rivals: Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim who scored 5,206 votes, Hon. Blessing Nwagba with 4,456 votes, and Prince Paul Ikonne who polled 4,099 votes.

– Aba North: Erondu Jnr 1,840; Anyim 1,071; Ikonne 1,504; Nwagba 1,447
– Aba South: Erondu Jnr 2,629; Anyim 1,085; Ikonne 1,219; Nwagba 1,495
– Obingwa: Erondu Jnr 3,612; Anyim 504; Ikonne 41; Nwagba 27
– Ukwa East: Erondu Jnr 1,836; Anyim 646; Ikonne 329; Nwagba 437
– Ukwa West: Erondu Jnr 3,675; Anyim 2,119; Ikonne 716; Nwagba 836

Prof. Emmanuel Kalu Agbaeze formally declared Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr as the winner of the APC Abia South Senatorial District primary election after the collation process was completed.

The victory positions Erondu Jnr as the party’s candidate for the Abia South Senatorial seat in the upcoming general elections.
