Ambassador Uba Chiemezuo Anyanwu, JP, is a native of Umuoha in Isialangwa North Local Government Area of Abia State and the first son of Chief and Mrs. Gaius Anyanwu. Known for his strong family values and sense of responsibility, he has grown into a respected figure in public service and grassroots politics.

He began his education at Hospital Road Primary School, Aba, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate with distinction. His academic excellence earned him admission into the prestigious Government College Umuahia, where he distinguished himself both academically and in leadership, rising to the position of Senior Prefect. He later gained admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he studied English, Literary Studies, and History, graduating with a Second Class Upper Division. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Benue State, he was awarded Best Corps Member by the NYSC Chairman.

Amb. Anyanwu holds a Diploma in Social Work and Community Development and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as a Master of Arts in English and Literature from Abia State University.

In the private sector, he is the Chief Executive Officer of GACH Energy Resources Limited, a company credited with providing employment opportunities for many youths in Abia State.

His public service career includes an eight-year tenure as Special Adviser on Revenue to former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, where he contributed to revenue administration and policy implementation. He is also the Founder and Funder of Centre Point Agenda (CPA), a grassroots political support structure with active presence across all 17 local government areas of Abia State. In addition, he serves as the Youth Leader of the Proud City Boy Movement, Abia State Chapter.

Widely recognized for his humanitarian efforts, Amb. Anyanwu has consistently supported vulnerable groups by paying school fees, hospital bills, and rent for indigent individuals and families, guided by his personal philosophy of “putting smiles on the faces of people.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he undertook major intervention projects across Isialangwa North without holding any political office. These included the rehabilitation and restoration of damaged boreholes across all 10 wards, distribution of food items, provision of power generating sets, and financial support for the maintenance of water facilities. He also donated hospital equipment and transformers to support essential services.

His ward-by-ward interventions include:

Ward 1 – Amasaa Nsulu (Amachi Health Centre): Donated a power generating set and repaired borehole

Ward 2 – Umunna Nsulu (Umuorgu Electrification Scheme): Donated ₦150,000 to energize transformer

Ward 3 – Isiala Nsulu (Eziala Health Centre): Repaired borehole, replaced water tank, donated power generating set

Ward 4 – Ngwa Ukwu (Osusu & Amaokpu Water Projects): Repaired boreholes and donated power generating sets

Ward 5 – Ngwa Ukwu (Ahiaba Ubi Health Centre): Repaired borehole and donated power generating set

Ward 6 – Ihie: Donated 16 hospital foam mattresses, bedsheets, and a power generating set

Ward 7 – Amasaa Ntigha (Okpuala Ntigha Water Project): Repaired borehole and donated power generating set

Ward 8 – Amapu Ntigha (Orie Amapu Water Project): Repaired borehole and donated power generating set

Ward 9 – Umuoha: Drilled a new borehole, mounted tank stand, donated transformer and power generating set

Ward 10 – Nbawsi Umuomainta: Repaired borehole and donated power generating set
