The City Boy Movement (CBM), Abia State Chapter, under the leadership of the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, has successfully inaugurated Unit and Ward Coordinators across the Abia North Senatorial Zone, marking a significant step in strengthening grassroots engagement and youth-driven political participation.

The inauguration, held in Ohafia Local Government Area, brought together key stakeholders of the movement and the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the State Patron, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji; State Coordinator, Okechukwu Gberemako; CBM State Executives; Zonal Coordinators; and APC stakeholders. Also in attendance was Chief Uche Ogboso, Chairman of Ohafia APC Stakeholders, alongside Local Government Coordinators from Isuikwuato, Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi, and Arochukwu LGAs.

In her address, the Abia North Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Dr. Lillian C. Obenwa, expressed appreciation to the State Director, Patron, and the leadership of CBM for their continued support. She emphasized that the inauguration was not just ceremonial but a strategic move to equip leaders at the grassroots with the structure and direction needed to drive effective mobilization. She urged all coordinators to return to their respective LGAs and immediately commence engagement efforts aimed at strengthening support for national leadership and the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Welcoming attendees, Chief Uche Ogboso commended the presence of the state leadership in Ohafia and reiterated the importance of unity and commitment in achieving the collective mandate of sustaining national progress through continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his reelection bid.

Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated coordinators, the Arochukwu LGA Coordinator, Hon. Austine Emeka Bonny, expressed gratitude to the state leadership for the confidence reposed in them, affirming their readiness to deliver on the mandate and deepen grassroots participation across Abia North in line with the movement’s objectives.

In his keynote address, the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, underscored the importance of community as the foundation of national development, noting that without community, there can be no nation. He highlighted the core values of the City Boy Movement as progress, unity, and empowerment, while commending the commitment of members and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the inauguration.

He further spoke on key national developments under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including reforms aimed at strengthening the economy, advancing Local Government autonomy, and repositioning governance for long-term growth. He described these measures as necessary steps toward national stability and prosperity. He encouraged all coordinators to take ownership of their roles, mobilize effectively, and ensure that the structure translates into meaningful opportunities and representation for young people at all levels, while building strong grassroots support for the President’s reelection in 2027.

The State Patron, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, also addressed participants, outlining the vision behind the City Boy Movement and its role in fostering political inclusion and national alignment. He called on all members to remain committed to the movement’s objectives and to actively support the administration and reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The inauguration of Unit and Ward Coordinators in Abia North further consolidates the City Boy Movement’s presence across the state, reinforcing its commitment to structured grassroots mobilization, youth empowerment, and active participation in national development.
