Governor Abdullahi Sule has announced Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election in Nasarawa State.

The governor made the declaration during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House, signaling an early endorsement that could shape the party’s internal dynamics in the state.
Senator Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC, a move widely interpreted as part of his ambition to contest the governorship.
The endorsement is expected to influence consultations and alignments within the APC as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 gubernatorial race.
