A member of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP in Ward 9, Obingwa LGA of Abia State, Chief Solomon Nwaigwe, has formally resigned from the party.

In a resignation letter dated April 6, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, Nwaigwe stated that his decision takes immediate effect from the same date. He expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for their cooperation and support during his time in the party.
The development comes just six days after his reported meeting with Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Nwaigwe, however, did not disclose the reasons for his resignation in the letter.
