The endorsement came during a well-attended gathering of the apex socio-political body, Mbutu Amairinisii Political Forum, held at the Mbutu Amairinisii Civic Hall. In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the group stated that Governor Otti’s performance in office, having undergone what it described as “rigorous scrutiny,” remains commendable and worthy of accolades.

While reaffirming their support, the forum used the opportunity to call on the governor to give greater attention to the needs of the Mbutu political bloc—comprising Wards 3 and 4—particularly in the areas of infrastructure, social amenities, and political appointments.

The group also made a strong case ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging the governor to support the emergence of a candidate from the Mbutu Amairinisii bloc under the Labour Party for the Abia State House of Assembly. According to the forum, such consideration would address perceived imbalances in the current distribution of political offices and promote equity, especially as the governor hails from Nvosi.

They further emphasized that granting the bloc the opportunity to produce a House of Assembly candidate would galvanize widespread support across political lines, noting the significant contributions of Mbutu sons and daughters to the governor’s electoral success.

In addition, the forum called on all political parties to take deliberate steps toward inclusiveness by recognizing the bloc in the allocation of political positions, in a bid to bridge existing gaps in representation.

Speaking at the event, the President General of the forum, Peter Egwu Onwumelu, stressed that the gathering was focused solely on advancing the collective interests of the Mbutu Amairinisii people, devoid of partisan considerations.

Also speaking, the committee chairman, Emeka Achilefu, reiterated that the meeting was convened in pursuit of the shared interests and development of the community.

The meeting attracted the presence of several notable stakeholders including Chidi Eneogwe, John Erondu, Ubannie Dannie, Kelly Ahunnaya, Nnamdi Ahunnaya, P. O. Ngwaba, S. O. Ihemanma, Emeka Ahuruonye, Darlington Ahuruonye, Victor Azubuike, Kassidy Nwankodo, Ndubuisi Egbue, Kelvin Onwumelu, Ikechukwu Onwumelu, Chief Agudindu Godwin Erondu among others too numerous to be mentioned.
