The Christian community in Nigeria and beyond is mourning the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, a globally respected evangelist, who went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

According to an official announcement by his family, Dr. Ukpai dedicated over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of God’s power. His ministry touched millions of lives and transformed countless destinies across Nigeria and the globe.
Described as a “spiritual general,” Dr. Ukpai was a founding father of faith, a loving husband, devoted father, and mentor to many. His life was considered a testament to God’s power and love.
While his physical absence is deeply felt, his family expressed gratitude to God for his extraordinary life and legacy, rejoicing that he has finished his race and is now resting in eternal glory.
Details of his funeral arrangements will be announced later by the family.
