A Chieftain of the Labour Party and Founder of the ECK Foundation, Chief Emeka Charles Kalu (ECK), has declared his support for the candidacy of the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chief Kalu made his position known when Dr. Chima Anyaso paid a visit to his country home in Bende Town, where he described Anyaso as the person who will represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives come 2027.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Kalu said:
“You are the next Member that will represent Bende Federal Constituency come 2027, and I am fully supportive of your candidacy.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party and the OFUJI project, stressing his readiness to support the campaign as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
In his response, Dr. Chima Anyaso described Chief Emeka Kalu as a valuable stakeholder and asset to the Labour Party in Bende and Abia State.
Anyaso explained that his visit was primarily to appreciate Chief Kalu for his continued commitment and support for the Labour Party, noting that although they share a close relationship, he considered it important to personally acknowledge his contributions to the party.
“I am here to appreciate all the support that you have been giving to the party. You are an asset to Labour in Bende and Abia State.”
The Labour Party candidate also assured Chief Kalu and other party members that he would justify the confidence being placed in him if elected.
“I assure you and every member of the Labour Party that I won’t disappoint the trust and confidence reposed in me. We will offer quality representation from 2027.” He concluded.
